Howard Scholars Academy

I was approached by Howard Scholars Academy, a charter school in Atlanta, Georgia, to enhance the visual appeal of their building.

Upon conducting a consultation with the owner of the institution, I suggested the installation of perforated window vinyl and printed vinyl as a more fitting approach than a traditional sign and painted stripes.

To kickstart the project, I visited the school’s location to take photographs that would serve as a reference while designing and as mockups to present my concepts to the client. I then created two design proposals, from which the client chose her preferred option. Next, I designed images for the remaining windows using Adobe Photoshop for imagery, Illustrator for vector work, and InDesign to lay out the elements and prepare them for print.

Since the project coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to tackle the installation personally, as it was challenging to work with my usual installation team. The job was completed in just two days, and the perforated window vinyl ensured that people inside the building could see outside while maintaining privacy from those outside, adding an extra layer of security for the institution, employees, and students.

Thanks to my expertise, the school’s building now boasts a vibrant, modern look, boosting its visual appeal to the public.
